Rhododendron Show Returns to Fort Bragg in May
The Noyo Chapter of The
American Rhododendron Society
proudly presents the 33rd Annual John
Druecker Memorial Rhododendron
Show & Plant Sale. It will be held at
Dana Gray Elementary School, 1197
Chestnut Street, Fort Bragg, California
on May 1 & 2. Plants hybridized
locally will be featured in this year’s
theme, “There’s No Place Like Home”
with educational displays highlighting
the history of rhododendron growing
on our coast.
This is a juried show, one of
the largest on the west coast with
over 700 trusses. Entries, including
rhododendron flowers, arrangements, bonsai
and photographs, may be brought to the
cafeteria on May 1 between 7:00 and 9:00
am. Members will be available to assist in
filling out the short entry forms. Judging is
from 9:00 to 1: 30. The show then opens to
the public until 5:00 on Saturday, and from
10:00 to 3: 30 on Sunday. Local nurserymen
from Celeri & Son, Forest Lane, Descanso
and Heartwood nurseries will be on hand
to answer gardening questions during sale
hours from 9 to 5 Saturday, and 10 to 3: 30
Sunday. They will also help you select and
purchase plants grown both at our local
nurseries and varieties from growers of the
Pacific Northwest.
The John Druecker Memorial Rhododendron Show
will be held May 1-2 in Fort Bragg.

Additionally, the show will include
a beautiful garden scene, a silent
auction, an ongoing raffle, educational
displays, refreshments and more! Special
arrangements can be made with local
growers to visit their production nurseries
during the show. Admission is free to this
beautiful and worthwhile event.
