As if a trip to the Mendocino Coast
isn’t enough of a visual feast, the annual
Mendocino Film Festival (June 4-6) offers
a springtime banquet of great independent
films for movie lovers.
The Festival, which is quickly becoming the “go-to” festival of intimate fests,
brings unique independent films, special
guests, intelligent filmmakers and audiences together against the unbeatable
backdrop of the village of Mendocino.
The films are offered in intimate venues,
providing audiences with unique opportunities to interact with filmmakers during
the Q&A’s following film screenings.
The Festival always hosts special guests,
including renowned directors Sydney Pol-
lack in 2006, Albert Maysles in 2007, and
Danny Glover in 2009, while also screen-
ing films that have built an impressive re-
cord of honors in competition elsewhere.
Last year’s selections included Academy
Award nominee and Sundance Film Fes-
tival Grand Jury Prize winner Trouble the
Water with Executive Producer and activist
Danny Glover in attendance, plus other
Sundance Film Festival selections includ-
ing Dirt: The Movie and Wonders Are
Many: The Making of Doctor Atomic.
